So this will be a tour of Galway, or 'City of the Tribes'. It's considered by most Irish to be the most 'Irish' of Irish cities. This is JFK park located in Eyre Square, the center of Galway.
Galway is nice little fishing town. The streets are close together, lined with all sorts of shops and restaurants.
This is Spanish Arch, one of four arches that was apparently a present from the Spanish to Galway back in 1584.
This is a nice little river walk they have in Galway that leads to the Cathedral.
I wanted to go into Galway Cathedral because I had heard that one of the stained-glass windows showed JFK kneeling down and praying - I didn't see it!!
Huge inside!
The Quadrangle of UCG (University College Galway). Look familiar? Yep, it's pretty much the same as UCC (Cork)! Apparently all of them were called Queen's University - Cork, Galway, Belfast...now only Belfast has the original name...
Inside of the Quadrangle...
This sculpture I thought was interesting....it looks like bats giving this person their degree...whatever....
